Vermont Frames specializes in crafting traditional and affordable Timber Frames. Founded at the beginning of the second timber framing revival in 1976, Vermont Frames has been an active contributor to the timber framing industry for almost half a century. While many framing companies have turned to automation, we believe that the highest quality and most authentic timber frames come from skilled craftsmanship. This dedication to tradition is why we remain one of the few companies still fabricating by hand, preserving the artisanship that defines our trade. Our homes are built using high-quality softwood, primarily Eastern White Pine and Douglas Fir, which complement our signature “big beam” framing style. Each timber connection is meticulously handcrafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery with hardwood pegs, ensuring both strength and aesthetic appeal.
