Oakbridge Timber Framing
There was a time when homes were built to last for generations. Constructed of massive oak and Douglas fir timbers, secured with pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, distinctive architectural space was created, with large, light-filled rooms with vaulted ceilings and intimate lofts.
Oakbridge Timber Framing continues this tradition of spaciousness, durability and craftsmanship with the modern improvements of insulated wall and ceiling panels. Oakbridge Timber Framing began 25 years ago out of our experience as Amish youth raising buildings as our people have done for generations. Hard work, a penchant for detail and a commitment to the craft of timber framing has stood us well in the several hundred frames planned and erected. Our primary tools are still hand tools, enabling exactness of cuts and precision in joinery.
Oakbridge frames are produced using northern-grown solid oak or western Douglas fir timbers of the highest quality, cut, milled and prepared to exact specifications. Detail options include curved braces, chamfered edges and hand sanding. We also supply panels, and tongue-and-groove materials.
It is never too early to begin planning your home with Oakbridge so that every detail may be considered. Our portfolio contains planning sheets that take you through the design process step by step. Whether you like one of the plans found in our portfolio, have your own design, or would like to use our own licensed architect, the same exacting, time-honored process is taken to construct a frame of the highest quality and craftsmanship. At Oakbridge we do our best to plan your home as if it were our own.
We invite you to visit our timber frame office and our workshop and experience the quality and craftsmanship that go into every timber frame we craft.
