This timber frame cabin in Idaho is the perfect retreat place to gather family and friends on Lake Pend Oreille.

With a little extra planning and careful thought, the staff of Mountain Architects drew up a design that would delight guests while also creating an environment conducive to the Bisbees' enjoyment of the great outdoors and time spent just relaxing. Although larger in size than a traditional cabin, Charlie and Lauren's timber-frame home is their cabin retreat; a place where they gather with family and friends. With an open design, the kitchen allows guests to pull up a stool and interact with the Bisbees as they prepare meals, fostering a spirit of togetherness. When it's time to eat, guests can take a seat in the dining area with its wrap-around views, or dine al fresco on the deck just outside the dining area's French doors. The great room also bids a warm welcome with its massive stone corner fireplace, comfortable seating area and panoramic lake views. Venetian-plastered walls, mocha-colored timbers and warm stucco hues add to the charming ambiance of the home's living spaces.

Often, couples like Charlie and Lauren fall in love with a timber company because of a particular design or a company's distinctive architectural focus. Other times, would-be homeowners are passionate about the building process, looking for a reliable path to the realization of their dream home. Together, PrecisionCraft and Mountain Architects provided both of those services to the Bisbees. The finished product? A getaway that sets the stage for fond memories of good times spent together.
