There was a time when homes were built to last for generations. Constructed of massive oak and Douglas fir timbers, secured with pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, distinctive architectural space was created, with large, light-filled rooms with vaulted ceilings and intimate lofts.
Oakbridge Timber Framing continues this tradition of spaciousness, durability and craftsmanship with the modern improvements of insulated wall and ceiling panels. Oakbridge Timber Framing began 35 years ago out of our experience as Amish youth raising buildings as our people have done for generations. Hard work, a penchant for detail and a commitment to the craft of timber framing has stood us well in the hundreds of frames designed and crafted. Our primary tools are still hand tools, enabling exactness of cuts and precision in joinery.
Oakbridge frames are produced using northern-grown solid oak or western Douglas fir timbers of the highest quality, cut, milled and prepared to exact specifications. Detail options include curved braces, chamfered edges and hand sanding. We also supply panels, and tongue-and-groove materials.
